It just came out too. If I hadn’t just blown 800 dollars on that new camera…
the older one costs more money. I don’t get it. I should get one of these till I have the cash for the blue leather bound OED Complete.
quick update
Thursday, August 30th, 2007I’m in the midst of packing cleaning and moving on the 31st/1st. We’re only moving across town, 3 or 4 blocks, but there’s a shittonne of stuff in this apartment. I’ve come back to my usual disgust at the amount of stuff I’ve managed to accumulate and that I feel compelled to have stuck in the back of my closet or behind a door. This only comes upon me when I have to look at all of it and put it in boxes and move it or put in in my mom’s car so I can get it all from NY to Boston or something. I think I’ve at least doubled the amount of books I have than when I moved into this apartment about a year ago. I also have:
- a second larger monitor,
- computer case,
- another whole bookshelf,
- two plants,
- another external HDD,
- a bike pump,
- three times the number of cameras,
- at least that much again in lenses,
- twice as many bags,
- a camping stove,
- a watering can,
- two sleeping bags,
- 3 blankets,
- a huge framed Ansel Adams print,
- several hundred pages of documents, notebooks, papers and handouts
(with a volume in the last year equal to the previous two.) - 3 lamps, one of which is still in the box i brought it here in.
- about 12 CDs and 8 or 9 records on vinyl LPs (my record player’s still in the shop.)
anyway, I have to get back to packing this shit and trying not to feel like an asshole for having accumulated all of this junk…
Watched The Treasure of the Sierra Madre while eating a sandwich tonight, it was a good film. Bogart is still awesome and Walter Houston is great in this film too, a role he won an Oscar for. I think John Houston, who also directed Maltese Falcon, is his son but I’m not 100% sure. Monk told me so it must be true.
Pictures from my trip to grand cayman are forthcoming once I can get my computer set up in the new place and get them run through Lightroom and published correctly.
